About IBERO

About IBERO

Universidad Iberoamericana (IBERO), in its Mexico-City campus, is acknowledged as one of Mexico’s top private educational institutions, widely known both in Mexico and abroad for the high quality of its study programs.

IBERO's underlying aim is to safeguard, disseminate and improve higher education by training the professionals, teachers, researchers and technicians our society needs. At present it offers:

  • 34 bachelor’s-degree and 39 graduate-degree programs (27 master degrees, 10 doctorates and 2 specializations), most of which are certified either in Mexico or abroad, including several granted by Mexico’s National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT);
  • Over 200 diplomas and other courses that provide training to companies, government institutions and individuals.

Underpinned by the Jesuit educational tradition, which has flourished worldwide for close to five centuries, our institution blends science and humanism in all its academic endeavors.

Shield and motto

The shield of the IBERO represents two wolves rampant on both sides of a pot supported by a chain as are represented in the coat of arms of the Loyola family, from which St. Ignatius belonged to, founder of the Society of Jesus religious order to which our institution is committed.

Below the image reads the motto of the University; “The Truth Will Set Us Free”, inspired by an evangelical quote from St. John (John 8.32).
